we’ve found the most wonderful little shop, well, actually it isn’t all that little, a knitting/crochet/jewellry/haberdashers cavern of a shop, right in the middle of town. Within walking distance in fact 🙂 And one of the things it had was this pink fabric which is gathered (shirred?) at the top and just normal at the bottom, and they’re selling it off at 3.99 a metre.
Is this a good price, and how much of it do I need to make into a dress for Big? I’m guessing maybe 1.5? It would be floor length on her, unless I shortened it, but it would be ever so lovely.
we were ever so restrained in there, but I think we’ll get to know the owner quite well – lovely and chatty, telling us all about how she’s been there for 16 years (4 years before that she had a market stall, then she had 2 market stalls, then 4, then a shop seemed a logical progression). And she recycles everything and told me how to get to the recycling centre, and we talked about how lovely it is to be able to walk into town and shop at shops that aren’t supermarkets. There does seem to be quite a drive towards that in this town, there are always ppl in the shops, maybe not a huge number but always some.
I’m really enjoying being able to walk there – just wish I didn’t have to climb into a car to go and feed the rabbits!
