  1. oh Jax I’m sorry – that’s really crap 🙁

  2. (((Jax)))) I was just coming by with that very wondering in mind… I’m really sorry to hear that. What’s plan B?

  3. Plan B involves copious quantities of chocolate in the first instance, and possibly a quiet leak in the corner (I don’t take rejection well, even from interviewers 😉 )and then I’m going to do something messy and fun with the children while ignoring the bills. After I change small – he smells!

  4. How will urinating in the corner help…..
    There’s always the next one.

  5. Ah, that’s a pisser. Since we are talking about leaks. I know its hard, but I think the thing is now to try to get some *decent* feedback from them. None of the crap they try to get away with “it was a hard choice, but the other candidates had the edge etc”, which is no use at all. But if you can get some real pointers, then you can use it to develop your self marketing plan for the next one. That’s the grown up response. But the other one – I’d have a drink, a cry, a lot of chocolate, and play with the kids. Tossers don’t know what they are missing. xx

  6. Thanks Joyce. I got the feedback before I started leaking – still sounding professional but not too desperate we hope! After all, I’ve submitted cvs to a lot of agencies, and this guy is the only one who has come up with an interview so far.
Anyway, apparently one interviewer knew me, but the other one, who will be the immediate boss, knew four of the other guys they interviewed – used to work with them. And they appointed one of them. They said basically I came across as rusty, which is fair comment tbh, I haven’t done java in a little while now. But they will be looking for web developers in the next couple of weeks so he’ll ask if they’ll consider me for that.
He’s also got some more java roles coming up – I’m wondering if I should splash out a little of our emergency fund on a brush up course to make it look a bit more convincing – maybe not just yet.
Kids are daubing paint around the place liberally – it’s Small’s first attempt. Shame the camera is full, he is loving this. Kettle and chocolate, and maybe break out a bottle of something more adult later. Although Tim is in bed again feeling ill, so maybe not.

  7. I’m sorry to hear that Jax. Chocolate sounds a good plan to me

  8. oh (((Jax)))
    Chocolate & perseverance I guess …

  9. Hugs from me too – and add a glass of wine to the chocolate and perseverence sooner rather than later.

  10. ((hug)) They didn’t deserve you then! But still sorry to hear of the rejection. I don’t do rejection or failure well either.

  11. Sorry to hear you didn’t get the job Jax – sounds a bit like ‘the boys club’ to me.

  12. chocolate, and later alcohol. I hope that they do come up with something tho – maybe even with minimal interview?

  13. ((((hugs))) from me too. Chocolate definitely sounds like a plan to me.

  14. (((((snuggles up to Jax while being a grateful and paying customer who thinks you are great :~) )))
