black and white

this morning, Small very much wanted to tell me about seeing spiderman shrink to the size of Holly. I upset him as I was trying to chivvy him out of the house into the car at the time, and he thought I wasn’t listening. When I did listen, in the car, I was very confused. I couldn’t make out when he’d seen this, and I asked if it had been a dream.

“No, because my dreams are black and white and this was in colour.”

Oh. My little boy is always ready to surprise me.

They were horrid in the car today – well, he was singing which wasn’t all that horrid, but Big took exception to it and did all sorts of things like shouting at him, and singing loudly over the top of him and so on. The M1 wasn’t so bad, so obviously we hit a jam much nearer school, and by this point I was close to pulling over and leaving Big on a pavement somewhere 🙁

Yet another hectic day at work. I know that life is likely to be hectic in a support environment, but I’m really looking forward to working over christmas as it’s going to be blissfully quiet in comparison. And I got to roll some of my holiday over into next year 😉

Chatted with A about montessori training tonight, and got home with an awake Small who couldn’t figure out how to get out of the car (his seatbelt still being fastened was hampering the escape attempt) and they’ve only just cleared off upstairs. Well, that’s not the whole story – I’d taken him up and put him to bed and he came down minutes later wanting Big to be up there with him. So they start the day fighting like cat and dog, but can’t go to sleep without each other. Guess that’s siblings for you.
