BBC NEWS | UK | Police offer schools weapon scans

This is just a tad horrendous…although apparently, the radiation is not an issue. Not convinced by this personally, but I found this link which explains the technology.

I also discovered at the weekend that Big’s old nursery is now using fingerprint technology for the adults instead of magnetic keycards. Apparently it takes so long to scan your print and key in your pin that ppl are now actively holding the door open for those behind them, which is supposed to be one of the things these technologies stop!

  1. I was bemused that these are being made available in schools which are regarded as high risk as a response to an isolated occurrence in a school which would be otherwise regarded as low risk.

  2. Completely typical PTB response though! Like the way ‘Victoria Climbie’ is now being used as an excuse for all sorts of crap.
