another day, another party…

for my isolated kids! lol.

Second party of the weekend, another of our little mp bunch hits four. And I can now reveal that both birthday presents were transformers, a rhino for Kirsty‘s M, and a spy camera for Sarah‘s R. Hopefully they went down well.

The party certainly did. Although I was reminded of research about play surfaces – on theoretically safer surfaces, you get more accidents as the children behave in a less safe manner, and dd certainly demonstrated that today – she is bruised from head to foot! She also at some point got kicked between the legs, and has appropriate symptoms from that too. 🙁 For the plus points, she had a great day, with minimal fallouts, and was especially happy when Barbara and family came back to ours to play for another couple of hours. I enjoyed catching up with Barbara too 😉

Which kind of took up most of the day. Spent quite a bit more of the day with Small screaming at me – after another late night and what with getting up at 8 and refusing to nap he was very very grouchy all afternoon, until he passed out just as tea was ready 🙁 Fortunately, he must have been hungry, cos he woke up about half an hour later and ate, bathed, fed and went back to bed.

But he’s very restless – I’ve just been up to calm him down after another 10 minute crying session. Don’t know what the problem is, but he didn’t want to be hugged or held, was throwing himself around, singing didn’t settle him… 🙁 It’s going to be a long night.

So I’d better get on. I’ve work to do.
