An invitation.

Tim has been working very hard the last couple of weeks on an interesting new project. It’s ready for beta testers now. Beta means not everything works perfectly, and we’d like ppl to feed back on what doesn’t work the way they think it should.

So what is it?

It’s a free blogging platform. It’s based on wordpress and you can find it at edblog.co.uk and sign up there.

(The one thing that we know you can’t do right at the moment is put a blogring box in your sidebar – we need to do something about a widget.)

I’m already beta testing at books, books, books.

  1. So how do you generate income from it? Or don’t you? Just wondered!
Great idea though, I had a look around it the other day … would love one but I really can’t think of another reason to have another blog! Perhaps Joe would like one, I’ll have to ask him in the morning …

  2. Hopefully we will cover our costs with a few ads and sponsored links on the main site area, I cannot see it doing more than that though.

  3. are you supposed to have a reason then? bother.

  4. hmm, SB keeps considering having a blog – will ask her about hit!

  5. Yep, I’d like to have a go, if that’s ok- I was thinking of having (yet) another blog, seperate for my own personal writings- not sure if this is the appropriate place, depends on whether people will be expecting a homeschool journal, which I already have, or just anything goes- will all the blogs on it be linked to the main site? I just need to think up a name first.

  6. The blogs will be listed on the home page unless you opt out. 🙂
The opt out is part of the sign up process.

  7. I so want fuck.edblog.co.uk for non-ed purposes.

  8. Ooops.
lol, i’d love one. will have to wait for ams to be ready though, as the big two have their already. well, until the decide to need private ones 😉

  9. Hmm. The FAQ is – erm – all Q and no A. I’d want the answers to those questions before signing up …

  10. And where would the excitement be in that. A little bit of mystery, that’s the ticket. 🙂
TBH, I had forgotten about them. Thanks for reminding me.

  11. Congrats 🙂 Solving that widget thing may also be on my list.
