An afternoon off.

cakes and champagne

Yes, that is champagne. I drank champagne, in a hotel in London, and it was good.

It was a very good hotel. So posh that I felt vaguely ashamed of my wear everywhere crocs. But Amanda assured me that in that type of hotel it doesn’t matter, ppl just assume you’re so filthy rich that you’re eccentric.

I’d won afternoon tea at the Lanesborough Hotel courtesy of BirdsEye100. It’s associated with the 100 families challenge that Birds Eye are running, that tbh I hadn’t heard about :oops But I have now. And I’m going to explore the site further (you never know, maybe they’ll have more competitions 😉 ).

I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon off. Well, I say afternoon off, but in reality, I had a little sidekick.

She was gorgeous. She totally stole the show. Every time anyone grabbed a camera she smiled, and the level of excitement that occurred when she saw strawberries! Her hands were quivering as soon as she spotted them – she ate all of mine and then a second bowl as well.

And because she behaved so well, I got to chat and enjoy myself and unwind and feel like a real grown up just for a little while.

So I apologise to all and sundry waiting for responses to emails, or for me to get around to posting stuff, or do any of the other eleventy-ten things I’m supposed to be doing. I’ll get there. Because I’ve come back recharged and raring to go again.

What a difference a day makes. Thanks Birds Eye*.

*Note – this is not a sponsored post. It’s just me talking about some stuff I won. ‘k?
