A week behind

So far behind with regular blogging. This will be short on words and long on pictures 🙂

So last Friday we saw Heuristics at Framlingham and built and knocked down castle walls with mangonels. (Thanks Bob and Katy for that clarification 🙂 )

On Friday night friends arrived for the weekend. So on Saturday we went to Sutton Hoo where the house is now open, a snapshot of 1930s life.

From Sutton Hoo we went on to Aldeburgh for fish and chips on the beach. We were lucky with the weather – it dropped rain twice, but only on my backside each time as it was sticking out of the car while I changed the baby’s nappy and then second time as I belted her into her seat.

Sunday we had a mainly quiet day, as the kids were a bit exhausted following so much activity on the previous two. There was much playing of Blokus 3D which surprisingly Big really took to, and Small didn’t.

We had takeout for dinner. I took pics, thinking of #Blogladesh but never got around to posting them for the gallery. It was thoughtprovoking though.

after

Bank holiday monday our friends headed into town to investigate the second hand bookshop. After they’d been missing in action for about an hour and a half, we followed them 🙂

Now I have a bit of a thing about books, as most of my friends know. I am a rank amateur in comparison with Sara. I bow to her – she ended up having to send John back for the car as there was no way any of us were going to be able to carry her booty home. So the next couple of hours was spent with everyone bent over books 🙂 Took Big down to the fun swim at the swimming pool and the rest of the gang followed us down for ice cream after and then Sara and John headed for home after a really good weekend.
