A day behind again!

but this time I have a good excuse 😉 After we got the children to bed last night, I turned the computer off and did some serious decluttering of our dining room. There’s now a large patch of rug visible that is a different colour, it’s been so long since it’s seen the sun! Still a very long way to go, and a bit depressed that it took three hours to do that much, but hey, it’s a start.

Right, yesterday. Big started the day with some more Dragon Tales, then we did some leaf printing before lunch. After lunch we pottered until Small woke up from his nap, then I took the children over to Grandma’s for a barbecue. Big behaved very well, and it was a pleasant afternoon and evening. We were the only visitors for most of the time, until my aunt and uncle turned up about 20 minutes before I’d planned to go home, and then my cousin with hubby and daughter just as I was trying to leave, which set us back a bit. Consequently, Big was very tired, which might go some way to explaining the nightmare she had at 11.20 – I went in to her and she sat up and wailed “I want jelly!” ??? Took ages to settle her down, and of course she managed to wake Small up in the process 🙁

This morning we’ve been to her first swimming lesson – we were late getting there because I couldn’t find the pool on the school campus, but after that small set back she joined in completely and had a really good go at everything, I was very impressed. Unfortunately, the very last thing they were asked to do was a race, and she didn’t want to do that, so was already grumping when the chap asked them to climb out, then she couldn’t climb out, cue full meltdown, which lasted until I’d managed to get her dried and dressed. Hohum. And the lady next to me was asking about school – I felt quite justified in saying that we didn’t think she was ready just yet…I know, it’s the cowards way out, but I really didn’t want to get into it just then!

Time for yet another nappy change and then some lunch I think now…
