20 mins to actually make the cards.
Isn’t that always the way?
Of course, it is probably going to take 2 1/2 hours to clear up the debris as well, and the cards are too wet to go into envelopes today, hopefully by tonight, so think our cards are going to be late. There’s a surprise.
eta – tv prompted reading breakthrough here – Big has finally figured out that she can work out what is coming on next by reading the bar on the tv, and she has a limited time to do it before it turns itself off, so she is speeding up with her sounding out quite measurably 🙂

Having spent most of last December exhorting children to make cards, I bought all ours this year, and sent a minimum number.
Hugs for Christmas, stroppy children, unreasonable family, sleep deprivation. Hmm, that sounds a bit like round here. Yesterday I said if being excited about Christmas was making them so horrid, we weren’t going to have Christmas at all next year.
Well, given that it’s christmas preparations for ppl who aren’t going to register the presents we get or make them that’s winding me up, cancelling it sounds pretty good to me.
I’m sure you said that last year, Jax, it sounds very familiar.
they sound great jax. most of my cards get out by a whisker at the most. chris hasn’t written his – and they are premade!!
for the people that wont take any notice – ring them and say youve been so unwell, that xmas preps have been cutback. xy and z wont be happening, if it is important tothem, they can provide it – very liberating. thats what I have said about meat, and guess what, it is all being provided and cooked. Mind you, our families are actually helpful. so hugs for miserable families not being helpful
Great with Big’s reading and Small’s talking. Although I complain occasionally that my family are ****heads as they have never even seen Emma let alone given her anything my life has been sooooo much better since I decided to cut them out of my life! Not advocating this for anyone else but it took me 35 plus years to decide that those that put you down are not worth bothering with – life is what YOU make it don’t let others rain on your parade if you can possibly help it!
BTW Jax, there are toy chests in Lidl from Thursday for a tenner, if that’s of any interest 🙂
Yes, I saw those, but I really want the IKEA ones. They’re just the right size for the foot of the beds, and they’re only £7 each. Wah.
I made them all myself this year, was supremely liberating 🙂
