Yahoo ID Theft

Sent today to Yahoo!

“A member of your staff has stolen the Yahoo user id marchant@yahoo.com which I have used since 1997.

Firstly if you you are going to steal ids back for your staff to use it would be polite to tell people, not just lock people out without warning.

Secondly, I am concerned that this person may have abused my identity or had access to my private information.

Can you please let me know what steps you are taking to ascertain to what extent Yahoo! has compromised my privacy.”

  1. What’s the story? Nosey minds want to know!

  2. I was wondering same!

  3. Back in January, I suddenly couldn’t log in. Reported situation to Yahoo support. Heard nothing. Set up new Yahoo id and migrated my groups subs to the new id.
Today thought, I will have another try, since I have heard nothing from Yahoo.
Couldn’t log in, happened to take a look at the Yahoo profile for the account. Which you can see for yourself is a Yahoo Administrator now.
Account edited in January. So it was not done after the 90 day limit.

  4. Cheeky beggars! I hope you get a response/explanation from them.
