Wolfsong by T J Klune

I don’t know how this is my first T J Klune book. It certainly won’t be my last. One point though, set aside some time, if you can, this is a hefty tome, and if you’re anything like me, you’re going to want to devour it.

Yes, there are werewolves and magic. There’s romance and gore and betrayal and love and your emotions will be quietly pummelled as you’re immersed in a world just one step away from our own.

I’m sorry, I’m writing this on my phone on the way to work (did I mention new job? Maybe not) stealing moments from my day to share this, and I can’t get the blog tour graphic or any images to load, so I can’t add the picture of the glorious cover. It’s very beautiful though.

What does this remind me of? I’m writing style there are echoes of LeGuin. I think it’s the understatement, letting the story and the characters tell their tale with a sparseness that means there is nothing to get in the way of the reader’s involvement. Because I feel swept up in it, I’m completely invested.

Did I sell it to you? Affiliate bookshop link if I did. Let me know what you think.
