Yup, more new words. Almost had second thoughts about all of this when he came up with ‘why’ this morning, but quickly discovered that he can actually be satisfied – the chain of whys tends to be about 5-6 questions long, then you get “a’right”, which is kind of cute 🙂
Don’t seem to have achieved an awful lot tonight. I’ve ‘monetised the blog’ ;), which was one of my goals for the weekend, so at least I’ve done something. But the kitchen and table are both knee deep, and I’m now out for lunch tomorrow, with guests in the evening, so think I’m going to be kind of busy in the morning. With that in mind I’m keeping it short, off to bed in a minute.
The day has been reasonably successful though, managed to find 10/11 library books (though no library cards) so took those back with Small, then went on to the Yorkshire Outlet and bought him shoes. Big however was having a contrary day, so she stayed home with Tim. That backfired rather though when she had an absolutely wonderful day with him – they got out an Alice in Wonderland theatre book and apparently sat and played with it for about two hours. This will be good preparation for her birthday treat. After that they moved on to Guess who, which Tim fairly soundly thrashed her at, although she did win a few rounds. Think the fact that she didn’t understand some of his questions contributed to that though 😀
Tim nipped out to do the shopping while I got the kids processed. Small discovered that rubbing soap into your eyes is a bad idea. Finally into bed, with more repetitions of favourite books, and Big read Rattletrap Car again. And that brings us to where I am now…
night night.

My 5yo gave me a string of close to 20 why questions in a row the other night. After the first half dozen, a smile started to show through her expression. The first few were questions that she wanted to know the answer to and then somewhere she decided to turn it into a game 🙂
We always try to answer a why, even if the answer is, I don’t know or that’s difficult to explain.
Jax,
I hope your blog monetisation is more successful than mine. In another year, I’ll have earned enough to buy a Twix. I’m thinking about doing some marketing so I can splash out on a King Size.
Her birthday treat looks fun 🙂
I’m hoping so. The ballet last year is still talked about!
Ron, my very soon to be six year old used to do that sort of thing, but seems to have moved on to other tactics now. We have a similar attitude to why’s, although I do admit that my patience doesn’t always match up with my best intentions, especially when the why is about someone else’s behaviour. 😉
Libertus, not to put too fine a point on it, but I’d hope that given my blogs been running quite a bit longer than yours, I might have a slightly larger readership?
I put google ads all over my assorted blogs and sites sometime last year in an attempt to “monetise” – I have about $35 in there, but they need $100 before they’ll pay up don’t they?
” I’ve ‘monetised the blog’”
????
The google term for plastering your site with adsense ads 🙂 If you want to do it and haven’t already got an adsense account, please feel free to click on my little button as you do it, as I’ll get a referrer bonus 🙂
Oh, I thought you were turning it into an impressionist painting 😉
rofl! Now that would be worth seeing!
I hope Big enjoys the play, we went to see it with some West Yorks home edders and it’s really good:-)
I think she ought to Lautrecise it too.
