Where did the day go?

Another lie in this morning – Small didn’t surface til nearly 9.30, and I shot out of bed at that point to miss answering the phone. Staggered downstairs feeling very sorry for myself – cold has definitely come home to roost. (Sorry Merry – I assume this is what Ams has now, probably from my disgustingly snotty offspring 🙁 ) Fielded a couple of calls from a guy at yet another agency, then was a little surprised when he rang back asking if I could make it to interview today. Eek!

That was about half ten I think, and so I went into running round in circles mode. Ironed some clothes, showered, checked directions, looked up technical terms (and wrote them on the printout in crayon, as that was all I could find, sigh) and then belted off out of the house. Got to interview about 2 minutes late, but quite frankly, at that kind of notice, tough.

Not sure how it went, I’m very bad at judging these things. Since my first full time job, but prior to this round of interviews, I’ve had a pretty good record, think I only missed one interview for a job I actually wanted. So it’s been rather humbling so far this year, three interviews and no job.

The journey home was less than amusing – got to the motorway to find it stationary so came home the scenic route. It’s very scenic, but also very slow, so the 26 (?) mile journey took an hour. Yeuch. And round about that time the cocktail of medication that I’d taken to fend off the cold started to wear off. 🙁

Making the children’s tea, had yet another agency on the phone, but at least this woman had heard of the java cert and was positive about it! Haven’t got the email through from her yet.

Did discover that one thing from the weekend has almost taken root with Big – she still doesn’t know when the afternoon is (?!*) but she did correctly identify quarter past the hour. Sigh. I also know that she was watching the maths channel (or maths challenge? Something with a James Bond style character in it anyway) this morning, so I know there’s been a bit of education. I think from the sounds of it Tim concentrated on teamwork and domestic science with her otherwise 😉

Small has been an absolute pain tonight and only just gone to bed, and I’m going to follow him as I really do feel quite dreadful. Will keep you all updated as to the job hunt, and thanks for your good wishes so far. Tomorrow looks like a good day to try out solar cooking weather forecast so I might give that a whirl.
