What sort of Child Carer am I looking for? | Parents & Families | Tinies Childcare – Childcare for the modern world – UK nanny agencies

Quote of the evening:

You should be aware, however, that an Au Pair should never be expected to take sole charge of children under the age of 3 years. Only a Nanny has sufficient skills and experience to take such responsibility.

Drat. I don’t recall getting any qualifications, or having and skills or experience when they first handed me a baby and kicked me out of hospital…

I’m obviously too tired. I’d better go to bed.

  1. I thought you just referred to the handbook?

  2. Laugh not, give it a bit longer and you’ll probably have to pass and exam when the registrar comes round to “allow” you home.

  3. You could see if you could find a childminder who will look after them in your own home (there are such things). Remind me of where it is exactly that you live and I’ll post on ukchildminders and see if anyone has any recommendations. Pity I don’t live closer!

  4. It is a real shame you don’t live closer Nikki. Will drop you a line.
