We love you Hugless Douglas

I’ve read some other books for myself this week, including Allegiant, but I’m not quite ready to write down what I feel about that. (Yes, the kind of book where you’ve got to absorb it. There you go.)

So tonight, I’ll give you a review of Hugless Douglas, the We love you edition.

I don’t know how I’ve missed out on Hugless Douglas before, but I have. I’m slightly ashamed. It’s lovely, if a little surreal. (Come on, a sheep up a tree? Rabbits on a trampoline? Surreal.) But the message is lovely. That when you think you don’t have a best friend, actually, you’ve got lots.

Best friend isn’t a particularly helpful concept when you’re 1. Or 2. or 42 for that matter. You shouldn’t be measuring your friends on a comparative scale. It’s more important that the friends you have are real friends. Who love you.

And in this book they do.

(I do want to know how the sheep got stuck in the tree. Answers on a postcard please.)

What have you been reading this week? If you’d like to share, pop your post in the linky.
