Walking tall.

Last week I popped in to the local Lidl for bread and milk. And came out with stilts. As you do ๐Ÿ˜‰

I couldn’t resist, they were only ยฃ1.99 a pair. I think we had a set, years ago, but one disappeared, and you can’t do a great deal with one stilt.

So I gave them to the children in an attempt to tempt them outside. It worked.

Smallest got the hang of it pretty much instantly. She was very pleased with herself.

Tigerboy not so much. He couldn’t get his balance, kept getting his feet tangled in the ropes, and all in all, was a very loudly sad small person.

And then he slept, and the next day he did this.

Much much happiness.

Not the first time he’s acquired a skill by leaving it a day, he did exactly the same with his scooter. (Also a Lidl bargain. I only wish this *was* a sponsored post ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) The first day he had it he stood on, and dabbed one foot up and down, and screamed because it didn’t work. The next day he didn’t even notice he was actually scooting until I pointed it out to him, and then he was smug. I don’t know how that works, but who am I to knock it?

I only wish a good night’s rest was all I needed to acquire new skills. And long may it continue for him.

  1. I’d like to wake up tomorrow morning and be able to play the piano, LOL. I love your drawing and well done your kids.

I’d quite like to master time management overnight or failing that, drawing ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I love all the things in Lidl that are there to inspire and always at a great price. I keep meaning to make some of these with tin cans at our Activity Hour, I’m putting them back on the list after reading this post. Well done your two on mastering their new activity and is that your drawing at the end? It’s brilliant! Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.

Yeah, I love those centre baskets of wonder. Not the first time I’ve found a treat in them.
