Waiting for the Olympic torch.

This is smallest. As you can tell, she’s well prepared.

She has her free flag, as handed to her by the lady mayoress. She has her stuck on you blogger bag, perfect size for a couple of books, a notepad and a pencil case, and she’s eating chocolate brioche. She also had apple juice and a chocolate bar, so she was well provisioned.

This is small.

He had his ds. He struggled to find enough shade to use it in though.

What, your children didn’t need a picnic or a gaming device to last an hour?

Lucky you. No 1 child was at rookie lifeguard, and no 4 child was snacking and napping in the sling. All this to watch someone anonymous run by with the torch. Obviously I cried. I even took pictures, but with my real camera for once.

Small pronounced it disappointing, while big was overwhelmed with the once in a lifetime aspect of it. All of them enjoyed the Olympic treat icecream I bought on the walk home.

  1. Aw, we loved the torch thing. We got all packed up and walked from our village with a whole host of other families to the edge of town to watch it. We had flags, and cameras. The twin babies slept through the whole thing in the pram. The others sat with their friends asking ‘is that the torch’ any time anyone walked past. Yes it was over very quick, and a little disappointing for the effort that we made, but the children talked of little else for a week, and they’ll remember it probably for the rest of their lives.

  2. Ahh we’re going to see it on Sunday when it comes through here.
Ruby’s SO excited – mind you, I’m not entirely sure what she’s expecting!

  3. Love the picture of smallest. And yes, my children need a picnic to last an hour. Haven’t got into gaming devices yet but it’s probably just a matter of time!

  4. We get the torch on Wednesday will update….
