Virtual bookgroup update #charity

Sadly we suffered a communications breakdown last month with our book supplier the lovely Short Books Club and didn’t manage to get hold of the book we were looking at 🙁 This month there’s a choice of The Social Animal or The trouble with Alice. Because I want to get this sorted quickly I’m plumping for The Social Animal and hoping that there will be 9 of you out there that will join in with me. If you’d like to know more about what I’ve got in mind, check out the original virtual bookgroup for charity post, and then comment on this post to let me know if you’re up for it. Please remember that a large part of my motivation in trying to organise this is the fundraising for charity!

And if there are any lovely publishers or PRs reading who would like to support the virtual bookgroup in future by supplying books, please do get in touch via the contact form or on twitter. 🙂

  1. I’m in the middle of a book now but if I can get this at the library I’m game!

    1. The idea is I’m being sent the books – then I can send them out to readers 🙂

  2. Count me in! x

  3. I’m still game Jax.
I’ve tried the traditional book club at the library and they weren’t keen on having the kids with me.
Any excuse for booky interaction and I’m there!

    1. Excellent. Don’t think a library based group would be too keen on me atm either 😉

  4. Seeing as how I’m still supposed to be resting, I’d like to join in 🙂 Beats reading OU texts and getting lost in Ravelry, and it might keep me out of the biscuit barrel with a little luck! Need a change in reading material. Do they do a Kindle version? (don’t have the actual gadget but use the Kindle app on PC and HTC)

    1. ooh, am not sure about that. Will drop supplier an email 🙂

  5. I’ll give it a go! Not sure I’ll make it to the end of the book but I’d like to try out a virtual book group. Have donated to your virgin site 🙂 It’ll all be quite new to me, but why not extend myself!

    1. Thanks for giving it a go, and thanks for the donation too!

  6. I’m in!
