Try it Tuesday: leek and tomato risotto with homemade burgers.

Hm, doesn’t look desperately appealing there.

The leek and tomato risotto is from a Rose Elliott vegetarian baby and toddler book. I quite liked it, other family members tolerated it, and it was very easy to do, bit of preliminary frying, then oven baked. The burgers were cobbled together following the gist of various instructions from twitter, basically beef mince, onion, breadcrumbs and an egg. Another time I would cut the onion a lot smaller but apart from one bit that was deemed ‘too thoroughly cooked’ they went down pretty well.

So not a complete win, but certainly not a complete fail either. At this rate I’m going to wind up domesticated!

Rest of the day was expensive and emotional from time to time. Took Big out and bought her short shorts, which she looks amazingly fabulous in, and discovered Smallest really has had a growth spurt and needed new shoes. Ooh, and I also dropped off a bag load of stuff at one charity shop, and some packaging for recycling at another.

The emotions mainly ran high this evening. I’m not quite sure why, but suddenly both the older children would like blog readers. Small blogs at spider and it’s about books he’s read and sonic related stuff. Big is at Thinking for myself and did an excellent couple of book related posts tonight.

So there you go. Another day wrapped up, food suggestions and blogs to read. What more could you want?
