tough day today

I had a doctors appt booked for 7pm to have a mole removed. Having stayed up too late watching the election non results I didn’t really want to get going this morning, but with a todo list as long as my arm I really needed to get going.

As is always the way when I’m stressy the children were more than a little hyper and instead of managing to get into town shortly after lunch I ended up being ranty shouty mummy and leaving them tidying wile I went off to the bank with soa.

Pleasant interlude on the way when I bumped into our libdem ppc coming out of the odd antiquities shop. (Well, the window display is odd, I’ve never been in to find out whether the rest of it is odd!) She did well here, but not well enough. Isn’t going to be a stranger though, is hoping to pop in sometime soon to explain to Big how they go about designing campaign leaflets, which should be interesting to hear.

End of an era at the bank as I closed up the account that I opened when I started working there. Even more spooky as the application that is used to do the closing is the application I worked on while I was there. Felt all nostalgic seeing it again. Guess that’ll be the last time though – odd to sever all connections with a quite significant period of my life.

Even with that chore dealt with, my todo list isn’t very dented, and by the time I got home we were on to getting tea and getting ready to go out to the doctors. Children were despatched in a variety of directions – WFHelen took Big to swim club, while we dropped Big with Auntie S and took soa with us to the community hospital.

Quiet round there on a Friday night, even though it’s got a walk in minor injuries unit. Not quiet enough though, as I was still kept waiting half an hour 🙁 Tim by this time had taken soa back to D & S’s in the wrap (forgot to ask him whether he got any admiring comments this time 😉 ). Tbh, the worst bit about the waiting was the anticipation, I have somewhat of a needle phobia, and sitting waiting for a procedure which involves a needle is a whole lot of no fun.

The doctor was quite surprised that I hadn’t had a local anaesthetic before, given the whole having three children thing, but I know I’ve been really lucky with it and I’ve never needed anything. Now at least I know that the needle aspect of it all isn’t really all that bad, and while it’s very odd to feel someone pulling at a bit of your anatomy while holding a scalpel, it didn’t actually hurt.

Hurts a bit now – I’ve got a dressing over a hole that has 4 stitches in it. And I’m a bit light headed, so when I’ve changed the baby and drunk my tea, I’m going to bed. I’ll do my political ponderings (yes, of course there are some) some other time.
