Timely warning

People who use internet networking sites are being warned that they could be at risk of identity theft.

Credit information group Equifax said members of sites such as MySpace, Bebo and Facebook may be putting too many details about themselves online.

The suggestion is to be careful how much information you put on there, and limit what is available to the general public. Worth thinking about, anyway.

  1. I read something similar recently but the warning was a little more severe: it is reckoned that the CIA monitor sites such as those mentioned regularly and add the personal information contained therein to their databases. Slightly worrying….

  2. Daresay if the CIA want information on me they already have it!

  3. if anyone wants my identity they can have the whining moaning part. I’ll throw in the depressive part for free.

  4. Grit, what would be left?

  5. Grit, if the CIA read your blog, you certainly have nothing to fear, they will be as terrified of your children as I am.

  6. The thing with Facebook is that people can’t see you details unless you have added them yes? So as long as you don’t add random people then people have no information at all surely? Or am I missing something? I was slightly surprised to find on a friends facebook page their whole postal address and phone number mind you!
