Three websites later

and I’ve just managed to register our new oven. Why do they do that? Put a url on the register now card, which directs you to another, you then have to search that (once you’ve bypassed the bit that tells you they don’t support your browser! 👿 ) for a link which takes you off to yet another domain. Remarkably painless purchase though – we went to Comet, where they had the one Tim was looking at online, but not in stock. The salesman said that it wouldn’t be in til the 27th, at which point Tim said we’d go buy it online, and suddenly the one from the shop door was being wrapped up and carted to the car for us 🙂

Only small problem was that the parcel shelf wouldn’t fit in the boot with the oven, so the children had to ride home (all of about 4 miles) with it in front of their legs.

We also managed to do the bit of Christmas shopping where we needed two adults – the bit where the children buy something for each other. Big was very happy to be buying presents for friends and family, Small was somewhat less impressed – he just wanted to buy things for himself! Cue very sad boy marching to the till to pay for his sister’s present. Ever so cute.

Also got all our out of UK Christmas cards ready to go – suddenly realised that one of the names on the list tallies with a friend on homeschooljournal.net. It’s a small virtual homeschool world we live in 🙂

Which reminds me, the saleman in Comet asked the kids this morning why they weren’t in school and I was completely taken aback. Can’t think that we’ve ever been asked before just like that in conversation. Certainly not since they’ve been in school part time – which is actually far more time consuming to explain.

Right, must finish my cuppa and then get round to the post office. It would be very irritating to have our cards ready to go and then miss the post!
