the pains of duplo

it wasn’t duplo, but I know most of you have experienced the joys of treading on a brick, so can identify with the pain that caused me to fall sideways, taking a chair with me as I went.

Ouch.

And now I’ve had enough. Big is refusing point blank to cooperate with anything I ask her to do – it hasn’t been pretty. Small is whimpering in the middle of the floor, unsure why mummy just screamed at him too. I shouldn’t be left overnight with children in the run up to my period, it isn’t fair on any of us. Not least in that I never remember in time to plan to do anything sensible like have a pj day with wall to wall cbeebies, which would have worked far better than having goals that I feel bad about not really attempting.

Anyway, I now have a severely bruised foot – circular bruise, wonder what it was I trod on? – and two slightly traumatised children, and Tim has called to say he is stuck in traffic on the A14, despite the fact that nothing shows up there on the RAC or AA websites. So he is comforted by knowing it isn’t a traffic jam, just a figment of his imagination, and I can see the return of the cavalry receding into the distance.

I think I’ll do housework. Wonder if there’s a table under this pile of stuff?

  4. ouch – definite call for red meds – it is friday after all!

  5. (((((Jax))))) forget housework, have a totally chilled out evening, eat chocolate and remember Big is female too… if she’s anything like B she will tune into your PMS, maginfy it by a factor of several thousand and throw it back at you.

  6. (((Jax and foot))) and now you have me racking my brains to think of toys to create a circular foot bruise!

  7. I was about to ask what ‘cheebies’ are…

  8. Mmm, red medicine is port in this house. {{{{{Jax}}}}} I sympathise. Actually, Katy has a very good point – I’ve only just realised that D picks up on my PMT. Which is why she’s been bolshy, bad tempered and miserable today… oh, and which means she’ll be the same for the next three days. 🙁
    Go find some wine. 🙂

  9. (((hugs))) and ouch at the foot thing. I hope you didn’t do too much housework…
