The old ones are the best, or domes again.

Home ed group this week, and we made a geodesic dome. I’ve done it before, a time or two, and each time it works a little differently. This time I tried to stay back to let Big be a full part of the group, and it mainly worked, although she got kind of wound up by the end. Not quite sure why the dome was a little soggy in areas – I think maybe some of our short rods were a little too short. But we built a dome, and they had time to play in it, and then there was time to destroy it and run around with the paper so all was good.

Small was a little sad he’d missed it when we talked later, but it was completely his choice to refuse to come when I tried to get him to come out with us. I doubt he’ll learn much from this experience though.

As well as group, golf has started up again, and we’re back into the full run of Guides, swim lessons, rookie lifeguards and swim club. We made it to the allotment for the first time this year, and they’ve both got their mathletics certificatea too. And there has been reading. Soon there will be reviewing too. 😉

Today we carried on with some more decluttering and reorganisation. Can you believe that I bought a wall planner *and* got it up on the wall during January? If I actually fill in some dates as well we really will be breaking all records.

So it’s mainly been a good week. A good start to the year.
