between writing reviews.
100 books read and reviewed in January was an ambitious target. It turned out it’s the writing and publishing of reviews that we fell behind on, I suspect we’ve read way more than 100 books given the number we all read to the baby. I mean, we’ve currently got 80 library books in the house, plus all the books we’ve been sent for review, plus all the books we already had. 100 books? A doddle.
But it looks like we won’t publish 100 reviews before midnight tonight, so Big is desolate. We’ve failed. And we’ve barely raised any money for our chosen charity, Oxfam Unwrapped, building a library.
So this, dear reader, (if there is anyone reading this still awake after all the interminable reviews!) is where you come in. Are we pathetic failures? Does Big deserve to sit sobbing in a corner? (I’m exaggerating at the moment, but I’m sadly aware that that is how she feels.) What can we do differently in our next challenge to actually achieve raising some dosh without turning my blog into an endless list of book links? I’ve thought of book giveaways to raise the profile. Considered hosting a book tour or two to draw in some participation, but really, I’m not sure what would work.
Over to you. Answers in the usual place (that’s the comment box down below, please.) And if you’d like to pop over to Big’s book review site or Small’s blog and offer some encouragement in the way of comments, I would be eternally grateful.
