Walkers Mighty Lights. A sponsored review, with apologies to Dr Seuss.
One day arrived a mighty box, (sadly there was not a fox) The box contained some Mighty Lights Which did cause us some great delight. (Mighty Lights are crisps you see my children saw them with great glee, They have 30 percent less fat Can you believe they’ve managed that?) The younger children liked them…

{Watching} Oblivion. Wondering if Tom Cruise has a ticklist. Motorbike ride with wind in hair. Check. Swimming with naked woman. Check. Captured and held against the odds. Check. It has looked up with the arrival of Morgan Freeman though, most films do. {Felting} a hat. Possibly. Tell you in a couple of days. {Eating} vegetable…
I miss the barnsward.
I’ve participated at Kentwell in 5 reenactments now, 3 main events where there are around 250 Tudors about, and two minis, closer to 100. Each time I’ve been on the barnsward, as a felter, in the barnschool, in the cotte. Smallest has grown up there, it’s her summer holiday, and Tigerboy is experiencing the same.…
Can you guess what I'm doing?
It’s high summer at Kentwell Hall, so I’m feeding a small child in a tent. It’s just me, Big and the little ones, Tim and Small are bonding at home. This will mean minimal blogging, but I’ll try to share some pictures. And the story of the broken tent …
Conversational asides.
I realised something interesting the other day. I actually enjoy chatting with my children. I hear all these things about people trying to work out how to have conversation with their teens, products like prompt cards for round the dinner table, always assuming families manage to gather around, and I felt so lucky. We chat…

I’m happy to have any posts on home education/ flexi schooling or whatever really that people can come up with. I want to post the carnival early september – so if you can get links to me by end of August that gives me a bit of time to get organised. There’s a contact form…

{watching} Wreck it Ralph. I think this might be the first family film that the entire family watched and enjoyed, even Tigerboy was fascinated. Small, as the game geek of the family, spent the entire film trying to spot the real games, while even Tim and I enjoyed the humour. Highly recommended. {enjoying} a visit…

{Running} finally, a mile. {Shopping} with collective bias again. {Clearing} a pile of rubbish out of the garden. {Helping} at swim club gala. {Buying} a new rotary airer. I think I’ve hit middle age without ever growing up. How does that work? {Missing} kentwell. {Snapshots} Big got two PBs in her swim gala tonight, Small…
Community
It’s an interesting thing, community. People are drawn together from all walks of life to a particular pursuit. In this instance, reenacting tudor life. Just because they have that one shared interest doesn’t mean they share a common approach to life, or even to reenactment. There are many differences within the group, some who concentrate…
