superhero sunday

Small *likes* digital comics. He was waiting for me to come down today as the bit of paper with his name and password on had been mysteriously cleared away from beside the puter so he couldn’t sign in without me. Once he did he loaded up one of the comics from yesterday and went through it putting the words to the pictures as it were. He got a surprising amount of it right, but then again we had read it several times yesterday 🙂

We read about three more as well, or maybe four. More spiderman, a spidergirl and ironman. Then we went on imdb and looked at the trailer and that was very good. My only problem is going to be if it’s not suitable viewing for him by the time it’s a film (high chance of that I would have thought). Robert Downey Jr as a superhero, not the person who instantly springs to mind, but he should be able to do flawed hero in search of redemption if anyone can!

Wandering through imdb looking at other superhero trailers took up a pleasant slice of time and then the headache, untouched by paracetamol made itself really quite unpleasant and I went off for a lie down. I’ve only just got up, so I’ve managed to sleep through most of the time I could have spent with the kids. Not that it appears to have been too much of a hardship for them, Big as far as I can tell has been completely self sufficient, and Small has been accepting of what attention I could offer reading comics.

I’m quite pleased we’ve found something we can read with him – Big was happy to have pretty much any book, and so was he til a little while ago, but now tales of good v evil are definitely the thing. Must take a trip to starstore some time and see what comics in the flesh do for him.

  1. I know he’s not a superhero in the classic sense of the word, but we all love Tintin here.
