Summer solstice.

Last year we spent this day in a tent in a field. It was a good idea. I had too much to do today to plan that, but I should have known I would get little done. I sewed a sleeve into a shift, but inside out, so it took me longer to unpick than it did to sew. I dyed my hands blue as well as a cheap wool blanket, and I cried a little.

Yes, the tent was a much better plan.

Redeeming features of the day revolve around the cuteness of Smallest who is now starting to use sentences. Or commands. Such as “feed the cat” or “read the book”.

I did not cope well with Big, instead having a row over lack of maths done over the last couple of weeks. She then proceeded to do a weeks worth in half an hour.So why we needed the argument first I don’t know.

Ah well. Tomorrow is another though shorter day. Goodnight.
