Streethub – online access to independent fashion and boutique stores

While I was away at camp I was approached to review Streethub, which declares itself to be the way to discover the best independent fashion and design boutiques. You can order online for nationwide delivery (although we appear to have missed the last posting date for Christmas), but with many of the stores you can click and collect or get same day delivery to London or Brighton.

(I’m assuming that’s from stores located in those areas, but I’m not entirely sure.)

There’s an iPhone app, for those apple users among us, as we’re Android (or windows), I haven’t explored that.

For someone based in, or with access to, London, I think this must be a great resource. There’s no way you could ever explore the city’s independent shops in person, you’d just never find them all. But to use to seek out treasures, and then plan a day’s exploration – well, it’s something I’m holding in reserve for next year 🙂

If you’re in London and have some last minute shopping to do, courier rates are as low as £2 (whether that’s the same this close to Christmas I’m not quite sure).

glockenspielMy review product, currently hidden away to go on a Christmas heap ;), is a Angel G2-G4 25 Note Glockenspiel with Coloured Keys. I’m thinking that as first instruments go, one that doesn’t go out of tune is a pretty cunning plan! It comes in its own carry case, and has its own beaters. It came from Pandemonium and is showing as Click and Collect or Same day delivery (within London). I nearly chose a ukelele kit for Smallest, but decided 2 ukeleles in the house was more than I could cope with 😉 I’ll let you know how the Glockenspiel is received when it is unwrapped.

So, what do you reckon – if you’re London based, or London visiting, will you use Streethub to help you find independent boutiques? I reckon it’s got to be worth a try. (Or Brighton. It covers Brighton too.)
