starting with colours

A local friend found an art group for the children, runs 10-12 Saturday morning. There was of course the obligatory argument about leaving the house with Small, even though he’s the one that is particularly artistic. Or at least the one who tends to spend most time drawing.

While they were there I went shopping with soa – first time she’s been in a supermarket trolley 🙂 She seemed to think it was OK. Lidl wasn’t hugely different to how I remember it, although the staff aren’t up to much – I sliced my finger badly on the case of beer I was buying, and dripping blood all over my shopping, asked if they had any plasters. Guy just stared at me blankly – no. So I continued dripping blood and/or sucking my finger to stop it until I got out to the car and could pry out the car first aid kit and find a plaster.

Bandaged up I returned to the art shop where the children were still going strong. They sell drinks and cakes as well, so I indulged in a cup of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake with another parent while we waited for them to finish. They’d had a fab time – started a colour wheel which will be a continuing project, each done a keyring or magnet and learnt the comma stroke. Small had also invented a new colour – scold. (Mixing silver and gold, in case you couldn’t figure it out for yourself.)

Big got kidnapped to go off to the icecream shop and I took the smaller two home – had a boot full of shopping after all. Later on we got an extra child for the evening, and they slept out in the tent. (Did I already mention putting the tent up in the garden? Turns out Big and I can do it, and it takes us about 50 minutes. Hopefully with practice we’ll trim that time down a bit.)

And so to Sunday.

Ooh, Max would love the idea of a silver/gold mix – his two favourite colours!
