it took longer than anticipated to finish off Tim’s costume and make Big’s though the constant interruptions and heckling from the offspring really didn’t help. So we set off about the time the party was due to start. Sigh.

Still arrived with plenty of time to spend with friends though, so that was good 🙂

Great to catch up with so many friends, although there were a few much missed faces. Some excellent costumes – Tim has a picture of Big that I hope he will add to this post, or post himself later, while I’m going to have to rely on the Beans for a picture of Tim, as I didn’t get one myself 😳 Small was in his Superman pjs, and I think many of you will have seen them before 😉

Actually, I might get them all to dress up some time soon and take a family pic.

Kids played, adults chatted and ate, it was a party. An excellent party. Big managed to sell quite a lot of her stock of bracelets/ keyrings, and had to make a couple more to satisfy demand, so that was quite successful. She has now also learnt that it’s a good idea to count the money you are given, and to look after it afterwards, as she has £6.40 – given prices were £1 and 50p something has gone awry somewhere along the line!

To anyone who didn’t get the opportunity to buy, she’s very open to the idea of posting items out, especially as I can’t say when the next sales opportunity will be.

Up far too late in the evening chatting – Helen and I were the last up. Probably drawback of being sober – I didn’t get sleepy nearly as early as I usually do. Lovely to chat though.

Lazy morning in the sun with pancake brunch finished the weekend off nicely, and we also discovered that Small has completely overcome his fear of splashing 😉 , and we eventually made a run for it just about an hour too late in terms of Big’s temper 🙁 I keep hoping that she is going to mature out of this, and I’m sure I don’t handle it as well as I could, but I do try. It doesn’t seem to make any difference whether I am calm and patient, or lose my rag and shout back at her, so generally I try for the calm and patient so as not to adversely affect too many other ppl.

Got home tired, and with back and hip ache – think maybe the unaccustomed stairs. So the kids had pizza, and I went for oven chips with egg and mushrooms – which took far longer than it should have, as I used the big oven and discovered that it doesn’t reach the temperature it says on the dial 🙁 This could be part of why the roast veg didn’t work too well then. Useful to know.

Kids into bed and passed out quickly, me relatively early to bed and passed out eventually (twitchy legs, twitchy legs!) and so endeth another party weekend.
