Small achievements.

Washing in. Washing out. (Sounds like something out of a karate kid movie. Very Zen.)

Arguments dealt with, bruises cooled, tears wiped, children cuddled. Need to try harder so that there are fewer arguments to deal with.

Drawn many pictures, including the name of the cat (no, I don’t know how that classes as drawing a picture, but she was quite emphatic about it) and read several books.

Researched where to find a hobby motor so that we can finally properly review Kinetic Contraptions: Build a Hovercraft, Airboat, and More with a Hobby Motor a book that embarrassingly we received many moons ago, but I got nowhere with because of the hobby motor issue. As I’m wanting to bring more science and craft that Small might be interested in into our lives, this seems like a good time to pick it up. (Well, OK, delegated to dp to research where to buy a hobby motor, but I did go on to read the first few chapters of the book, decide my head hurt and stop again.)

Nappies changed, children dressed, shopped for floradix (couldn’t check whether Boots had spatone as they were closing at quarter to 4 – the woman actually picked up the door mat as I was walking towards her, so I guessed they didn’t want my money.) Food cooked and eaten. Though not the food that was planned – I slept too late for that. So that’s probably only half an achievement.

Attempted to install new version of beta of Family Quest – finally worked out iTunes *without* giving them a credit card (hah! In case you are wondering, you go to the app store within iTunes, download a free app (well hello, pocket frogs) and create your registration from within there, which gives you a none option for payment. Thank you mr Google.) Failed dismally on the installation, but think that I’m missing a file, so have emailed to query that one.

And now I’m going to go to bed. The same day I got up. Smallest is probably going to bounce on my head for the next hour so I won’t get to sleep any time soon, and she’s probably going to wake sometime between 3 and 5 and ask for milk, be told it’s asleep and cry for a bit, thus thoroughly waking me up so I’ll be tired again tomorrow, but hey, these things happen.

Here’s hoping that you’ve all had achievement filled days too.

  1. Ah, shit. I’ve just realized that I have a load of wet laundry in the washer. And it’s nearly tomorrow.
I guess today was not as successful as I thought.
Wishing you an uninterrupted sleep with no head bouncing by Smallest….

  2. We’ve got a couple here that I can pass on if you’d like?

  5. You could always drop in for a cuppa and collect motors then. It’d be lovely to see you all.
