Sid The Mosquito

Sid The MosquitoWhen I collected Lily from uni she gave me a book to read to Big and Small. She said it was her favourite book when she was little.

The book is a collection of short stories set amongst the animal inhabitants of a deserted house and garden. We finished reading it tonight. Big was very upset that we had reached the end, but I pointed out that we could read it together again or she could read it herself and that placated her.

The book is written and beautifully illustrated by Colin Thompson.

I had never heard of it before, it is out of print, but the author has made it available for free download (pdf) from his web site. It is a lovely book.
