Saturday Snippets 9th March 2013

{missing} out on the Kentwell Hall open day, due to a broken car and a sick Big. She was especially sad to miss out on catching up with her Tudor friends.

{walking} to the shops with a trolley. The bright side of no car is that the shopping bill has been trimmed (you don’t buy extras if you’ve got to carry it home) and I’m getting fitter (two trips to Lidl on foot in the last week. Around 2 1/2 miles round trip, once with a pushchair, once with a shopping trolley).

{reading} How Should a Person Be? Not entirely sure that I’m loving it.

{watching} Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves [1991] [DVD]. An excellent family film night choice, even if I couldn’t resist moaning about them walking from Dover to Nottingham via Hadrian’s wall in one afternoon. Just why were they at Hadrian’s Wall anyway? Do Americans really know so little about the UK that they think the rest of us won’t notice?

{eating} roast dinner. But trying to cut down on the snacking. I’m fed up of feeling fat and unfit.

{Snapshots} Big has mainly been unwell this week it seems. Small has had Scratch reinstalled and is reigniting his love of programming. Smallest has demonstrated admirably that she is acquiring counting, drawing and pre reading skills, while Tigerboy now nods and shakes his head at me appropriately (always while grinning) and is oh so very close to walking.

Waved to you like loons as we drove past you walking to the shop, but you didn’t notice us 🙂

    1. Sorry, I must have been more miles away than I thought 🙂

  2. Hahaha Dover to Nottingham via Hadrian’s Wall. Love it. As for the Americans – they don’t care, it’s like Dick Van Dyke’s appalling cockney accent in Mary Poppins. What matters to them is that 300 million Americans THINK thats what a cockney accent sounds like.

    1. They have a very odd view of the world.

  3. yes, they seem to think we have wild racoons… (live action 101 Dalmations)
and gophers (Winnie the Pooh cartoons)
