Saturday snippets 9th June 2012

{running} 0.83 miles in 09.35 minutes.

{listening} bat out of hell, 1, 2 and 3.

{watching} honey, I shrank the kids. (although I ran away. Whatever happened to Rick Moranis anyway?)

{reading} dream a new dream. Jai Pausch. Too soon to give full feedback, but what an inspirational family.

{sewing} kirtle points and tiny shifts.

{washing} linen and sleeping bags. (it involved a tent and a cat. Probably best not to ask.

{cooking} cauliflower cheese and brioche and butter pudding. A bit bland, but worth persevering with..

{feeling} tired but triumphant. And dp told me this morning that there looks to be less of me. Result.

  1. Brioche and butter pudding sounds yummy! And that’s a good point, whatever did happen to Rick Moranis?!!

    1. It had good texture but not enough flavour. Trying to think what to do to enhance it. Without putting small off it.

  2. Wow so much and cooking sounds delicious… Loved that film can’t wait to see it with our family in a few years but we always cried with the ant after the fight…
    As for Rick: He left the film industry in 1997, six years after the 1991 loss of his wife, Anne, to liver cancer. He later explained that he began to “pull out” of making movies in about ’96 or ’97. “I’m a single parent and I just found that it was too difficult to manage raising my kids and doing the traveling involved in making movies. So I took a little bit of a break. And the little bit of a break turned into a longer break, and then I found that I really didn’t miss it”. WIKIPEDIA (but did Disney voiceovers in 2005)

    1. I missed the ant fight, is it sad? Thanks for the news on Rick, that is a little sad, I kind of imagined he’d just gone out of fashion, but it sounds like there was rather more to it.

  3. Impressed that after brioche and butter pudding “there looks to be less of you”. Don’t know if that’s the running, the breastfeeding or excellent portion control, but well done you:-)

    1. All three I think, though I do feel like I’ve slipped a little over the last couple of days.
