{running} 3 miles or thereabouts. In glorious autumn sun, along the beach.
{suffering} from an aching back. I’m sure it’s completely unrelated to the previous entry.
{watching} City Slickers for family film night. Very slow to get started, and not as funny as I remembered. Am actually wondering whether I’ve mixed it up with another comedy western in my mind. Still, overall it went down well, and I don’t think the three year old particularly noticed all the inappropriate romantic mentions.
{reading} a rather glorious Barefoot book of Jewish tales, full review to follow. And Blue Remembered Earth, which is very far removed from the YA dystopian stuff I’ve been reading recently.
{eating} home made burgers and Lidl potato wedges. Feels like luxury food, and cost £5 for 6 of us. (And would have been cheaper if we hadn’t splurged on a bag of salad to go with it, and I’d made my own coleslaw instead.
{drinking} beer. Which I suppose pushes the price of the meal up, but I see as a luxury unattached to particular meals, and I budget it across the week separately.
{enjoying} the glorious weather.
{shopping} for beads to make our own Montessori golden bead material.
{crafting} with Smallest. Though perhaps I shouldn’t have left her alone with the wool…
{Snapshots}
Tim and Big did their first Kentwell mini without us. Felt very odd being without the adult and teen bits of the family for five days. Small did very well in their absence and stepped up to the mark being helpful. He’s also encountered his first greek letter in maths, Pi, and pretty much mastered it this week. Smallest (dare I say it?) has had two dry days in a row. Tigerboy has his first pair of shoes. Aw. (£32! Not quite so aw.)
