{travelling} into London for a fab picture book session with Little Tiger books. We got to meet a variety of authors and illustrators, there were crafts and face painting for the children, and lots of interesting people to meet up with, including Anne-Marie from Child Led Chaos and her children.

{feeling} inspired by the very varied artwork on show, and particularly by watching Steve Smallman drawing to demand on a flip chart. He was using quite a soft purple pencil/crayon, and as I watched him draw a tiger, it was almost as if it was already there and he was just rubbing away what was hiding it from view. It seemed too real to have come out of a pencil if that makes any sense? It was absolutely incredible to watch and I really wish that I’d videoed it!

{enjoying} free coffee from Coffee Run on our way to the zoo. Lovely unexpected treat!

{making happiness} by seeing penguins. The zoo tickets were courtesy of Little Tiger as well, so we made sure we visited the Tigers. Before that though I took Smallest to the penguin beach, and she was utterly thrilled to be able to sit in the under water window and watch penguins swim above her head.

{taking photographs} lots of photographs. Quite a lot on Instagram of course, but as some were with my lovely new camera, photo editing will have to occur before they get shown off. All sorts of interesting subjects!

Big brought home a bronze medal from the club sprints session, which given that she only swam two races, and she’d had her feet frozen the day before was impressive. Small has decided he’d like to take up fencing which is a bit of a shock, but I’ve arranged him a session. Smallest had a fabulous day out today and particularly enjoyed making an Archie Puppet (thanks Tracey Corderoy) Tigerboy loved being a tiger 🙂
