Saturday snippets 20th July

{enjoying} the sunshine after the rain. And lots of butterflies in the garden.

{reading} the Valdemar books. I’m up to Magic’s Price, although I’m reading around the series whenever I get my hands on a set.

{eating} sensibly. I just started a 28 day program of yoga and dieting to try and halt the thyroid weight gain and rebuild my strength and fitness. I hate the concept of dieting, but I also hate not being able to fit into my clothes. And while I’m in pain I can’t easily exercise to control weight. Plan is based on 10 minutes in the morning by Barbara Currie. (amazon affiliate link here)

{pondering} how to explain all of the above to the 9 year old. I mean, I’ve told her the above, but what she actually sees is mummy passing up on bread and potatoes and puddings. And I try really hard to not load the kids with issues around food and bodies but it’s all really hard.

  1. I think it’s hard not to mention dieting and body image when you are trying to do these things. I find mine ask lots of questions. I think you can only be honest xx

  2. Wow, beautiful butterfly and beautiful post, do you have a pinterest page i can follow?

    Thanks – ava

  3. I have a 10 year old daughter… going on 20! She has seen me dieting for so long, but with Keto, it isn’t a diet as such, just a change in lifestyle and we have an epic balance with that. She is conscious of pretty much everything these days, even me as mum cannot get away with anything! She sees that I have so much more energy on Keto and actually prefers me on it! Kids hey?!

Had to smile when you mentioned butterflies, I have seen many more this year than in the past few years. So beautiful and graceful to see! Sim x
