Saturday snippets 2 May 2015

{Watching} Aladdin with the younger children (well OK, with Smallest, as Tigerboy fell asleep almost instantly, which made for a wonderful bedtime later). Then When Harry met Sally with Big because we can’t watch it with Small around and he’s off at Kentwell with Tim.

{Reading} A God in ruins. Which I started a while back, then mislaid, but found again today while I was sorting.

{Making} crochet slippers for Smallest. Finally. Doesn’t good yarn make a difference?

{Missing} Tim and Small. And Kentwell. Although not missing being cold and having cold tired children in a tent.

{Sorting} the heap of doom at the bottom of my bed. Now into 4 piles, including a rather large Kentwell cloth pile. How did that happen? I also have a sack for charity, a box of car boot able bits, a bin bag and lots of cardboard boxes in recycling. The room does look better, but not as much better as I’d hoped it would.

Snapshots.

Big is making good progress on her 1920s planning, I don’t think any of us thought about the implications of reenacting a new period without the whole supportive experienced structure there is for Tudor times. Small is off at Kentwell being a page, which is kind of fab and wah because I’m missing it. Hope someone I know goes with a camera. Smallest started writing a story this week, and is really fascinated suddenly by picture book art, which is rather brilliant to see. Tigerboy is suddenly into duplo, which is nice, and screaming meltdowns which isn’t so much.

And I’ve been writing lists and actually doing stuff off them, and doodling faces and crochet again. I perversely stopped crochet when suddenly everyone was doing it, which was very cutting off own nose because I’ve loved it forever. But now I’ve given myself permission to enjoy it anyway.
