Bedtime story tonight was the Magic Porridge pot out of Storytime Magazine. The stories are absolutely perfect for this, and there are plenty of pictures to liven them up. We were sent a couple of issues for #review and I would definitely recommend, it’s lovely. Even came in a decorated envelope, which made for happiness on arrival. There’s currently an offer on site for your first four issues half price, so £2 each, and I did see double packs in Waitrose when I was in there, not sure where else it was stocked.
Strikes me that this would make a particularly lovely present, kind of a gift in instalments 🙂
Next up, the Airmotion Pro Hairbrush.
If you truly want to test a detangling hairbrush, what you need is a small child with long fine hair and a slinky. You may not want to try this at home. It wasn’t pretty. (I can’t believe she managed to tangle a slinky in her hair. And I can’t believe that I didn’t take a picture of it before I got it out!)
Anyway, you don’t get a lot more tangled than she achieved at this point. (Although I do remember the time I had to cut an ordinary hairbrush out of Big’s hair. That was even less pretty.) So the Airmotion Pro got a proper workout, and I have to say, it performed well. It’s good to hold (important when you’re spending a long time gently detangling!) and it did work well to get the knots out with minimal tugging, and therefore minimal wailing. I’m all for minimal wailing.
In day to day use this works well too, overall I was impressed.
And finally, Lalaloopsy Tinies.
See Lalaloopsy Tinies 10 Doll Collection – Pack 1 at Amazon (affiliate link, thanks for your support).
These are collectables, with various packs on offer. You can get them in 3s or 10s, and there are playsets and accessories to go with them. They’re beads too, so you can thread them and wear them as bracelets, which is what happened here. Big beads though, you’ll not get very many round a small wrist.
I did find that some of them weren’t completely clear through – would have been fine if we were threading cord, but I was using scoobies, which required a bit of extra assistance. Threading them did at least mean that they stayed together, as otherwise I don’t think they’d be anywhere to be found by now! The smaller packs and minibags (seen for sale in Tesco for example) would make good party gifts, otherwise I tend to stay away from collectables, as the idea of 4 children all wanting their own set of 100 tiny toys just doesn’t really bear thinking about. Smallest was particularly thrilled with them, and Tigerboy liked the animals, so all in all, a hit.
