and tbh, my fault rather than theirs. 🙁
Small had a very bad night, and has been off colour today, bit of a temp, slightly off his food, slept for a couple of hours this afternoon.
Correspondingly knackered, I’ve not been patience and light here at all – we staggered through some phonics practise, Big is trying to choose a History Project to do, she is very into the idea of building a house that one of her dolls can live in. I can see us working through several periods of history this way – add in clothing, food, transport, you’ve covered a lot more than I ever did.
And that’s about it. I managed at my aim of keeping one side in the kitchen clear, got a load of washing washed and is drying in the bathroom (the lot from two days ago is still on the line as it got rained on before I got round to bringing it in, and hasn’t dried yet 🙁 ) and I still haven’t done any more studying for my rapidly approaching exam. Bleargh.

I have washing on the line in a similar state, think I hung it out on Sunday – it was dry at 4pm today but I didn’t get it in in time, then it got rained on again. It can stay there until it’s dry again, for all I care!
I didn’t ever do much history at school either, think I’ve learnt more in the past couple of years’ home ed than I did in the whole of my school career! Doll’s house history sounds fab!
Hope you get a better night’s sleep tonight, and that Small feels better tomorrow too.
History has always been one of my main loves and I can still remember doing loads at primary school. Dolls house sounds like a really great idea 🙂
can recommend the Usborne Time Traveller books. L is hugely enjoying the one on Vikings Raiders ATM.
hope you can make some time for exam prep.

Your history project sounds great! Very inspiring. Am taking notes for when Lyddie is older.
Wow! The dolls house history project sounds like so much fun! If it’s any help to you, the bbc book that accompanied the 1900 House series is really interesting for a starting point, so I guess the one they did for the 1940s house would be helpful too…? I hope I remember your idea for when Rosie’s old enough to be doing stuff like that – I’ll be more excited by it than her, though, I reckon!
I knew that architecture degree would come in handy sometime.
Hey I know that shouty Mum only too well ;o)
I love history at the moment. Never did it at school but now I have my freeview I watch UKTV history loads.
Hope small feels well soon, children being ill is such a bummer. Hugs to you all xxxx
