I did attempt to locate Bil and the children, but got no response to text or calls, so when C called up to invite us over to meltham instead, it seemed a good idea. We loaded up with sunsuits, suncream, sunhats and towels and went and sat in the garden, with Pimms and home made lemonade while the children ran around and shouted a lot. It was very pleasant, and thanks once again to everyone to listening to me as I wittered on. I am kind of hoping that if I rehearse the story enough, I won’t burst into tears as I’m explaining how I’m one sister down. 🙁
Despite all the precautions, it appears Big had too much either heat or sun, and she wasn’t feeling well on the way home. At one point she started making unhappy noises and I was saying pull over, pull over now, but Tim was aiming for Asda carpark – turned out we didn’t have quite that much time, by only a matter of seconds, but oh those seconds count as you feel vomit hit the back of your head 🙁 :vomit: So Tim went in to the shop for urgent supplies and I stripped Big out of her dress and put her sun suit back on, cleared her up as best I could, and waited for him to come with water to rinse my hair out. Lovely.
Came home eventually and showered her and me, she was still feeling quite sorry for herself, but was put to bed, and apart from one section of the night when she got out of bed and tried to go to sleep on the landing, it was a quiet night.
Today, I had the best of intentions to go to the other house, but when I hadn’t gone by 10 o’clock this morning, the heat kind of meant it wasn’t going to happen. I did walk over to our friend’s house and put food down for her cat, so at least I’ve had some exercise. Big skipped lunch, and they’ve both spent most of the day inside – I’ve done some reading. Book review post to follow shortly 🙂
Work tomorrow. Joy. Oh well, I suppose someone has to.
