Recancel Christmas 🙁

or as Joyce would say, beep beep.

Parcel arrived today, lacking the essential item. Absolutely seething, got straight on the phone, took nearly three minutes to get through (it’s that time of year) to be told that the online system sometimes has stock discrepancies, and they sent me an email to tell me the aforementioned item was out of stock. I don’t think they did – I’ve received three emails, two indicating the order was complete, and the third just telling me it was despatched. Having done some research on Amazon (where it was listing the item in stock from that supplier on the night I bought it, but for 18.99 instead of 12.99) the feedback is not good. I suspect they had a minimal number of items, listed in several places, and have taken more orders than they had stock, sold it to the ppl paying most, and not bothered to tell the rest of us.

I’m very annoyed, not least as if I had known, I would have cancelled the rest of the order (I only ordered another item as it was already in my basket when the doll showed up in stock, and I didn’t want to risk missing it by messing around with my basket!). So I’m now trying to buy a collectors edition on buy it now on Ebay, which is horrendously expensive – just waiting on the guy getting back to me to say how much postage is to guarantee getting it here.

And all of this meant we were late dashing out to ballet, so I was stressed all the way there. Drove through the local village centre on the way, where they appeared to be setting up some kind of street fair on the pedestrianised bit. Told Big we would drive back that way (I usually go the long way round during rush hour) so she could see everything, and of course they’d closed the whole road so we couldn’t. She was absolutely heartbroken, and wailed most of the way home – I couldn’t get in the other end of the street to get to the carpark or I would have done, just to let her look. 🙁

Did I mention before how much I hate Christmas?
