Reading together – Fairytale phonics from Miles Kelly
A little while ago we were sent some Miles Kelly phonics books to review. At the time, Smallest was completely uninterested, so they languished on a pile, looking very attractive but being mainly unloved.
A couple of weeks ago, she had a new burst of interest in the whole reading process, and as is the standard way, each bedtime wanted to do more learning to read. (It isn’t just me with children that find learning suddenly fascinating just at that time you want them to settle down and Go. To. Sleep is it? )
We started doing a range of learning to read activities, and it turns out that the Miles Kelly books with sticker activities are just the best thing ever now. I suspect the shiny gold cover and the well done stars for each page have quite a bit to do with it too ๐ (I might be all about the intrinsic motivation. My daughter is all about give me the stickers! and as I’m following the child, stickers it is. Can you be intrinsically extrinsically motivated?)
And then, I popped into Poundland, as you do, and discovered a bunch of the same books on sale, and being the lovely caring blogger that I am, grabbed a load to give away to you lot.
I have on offer The Three Little Pigs, The Princess and the Pea, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Each of them have 70 activity stickers, and that’s a whole lot of happiness for a small child right there.
If you’d like to enter to win the lot, just follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter below. As I’m doing the posting, I’m afraid it’s UK addresses only, and I do check that people have completed the entries, so make sure you follow through on what you say you’ve done ๐
