Racing to complete the day before midnight

cos although I might not turn into a pumpkin, I want to get to bed today! Some challenge though, as I’ve to blog, excavate the kitchen and get the washing on first…

Anyway. As mentioned earlier I had an extra child overnight last night, which meant that I barely saw Big this morning. Result! 😉 Actually, they were great together. Did seem to me that Big was being rather bossy, but I’m not quite sure what to do about that – yelling at her not to yell doesn’t seem to make too much sense :-/

We were supposed to be going to chesterfield to a nappuccino to meet with various ppl and give E back to Barbara, but Sarah called me to say she wasn’t going to make it as Dino isn’t well 🙁 Called the other friend, K, who was due to be there, to discover that she wasn’t there either, so it began to seem a bit silly for both Barbara and I to drive to Chesterfield basically to see each other. And as by this time it was rapidly approaching 11 and I *still* hadn’t caught Small to change his nappy (he hates having his nappy changed and runs away screaming, which does make life a little more difficult) we gave up on the whole thing, and I just went to Barbara’s instead.

Once there, quick lunch and Barbara headed out with B to nursery and to call in to Lembas. The girls disappeared upstairs, leaving me with Small and R, which was extremely pleasant. R gurgled and rolled about and played with her gym and her feet, and Small found some cars and some lego and played with those, so I perused the opitec catalogue at my leisure. Keep looking at this stuff which appears to be similar to elc magic maize, but a lot cheaper. Has anyone any experience of it?

Tonights ballet lesson was the one I got to watch, and so came home to drop Small off with Tim and take Big on to ballet. They both fell asleep in the car on the way back – guess it was a late night after all then. Ballet was interesting – but Big was completely fixated on me and not on the teacher at all, so I don’t think I got a good idea of her capabilities at all.

Home, bath, bed and more interesting conversations with Tim about LEAs and so on. Right off now!

  1. so kwym about racing to finish a day before midnight! It was very amusing to text you in the day with my request for Barbara’s number and find you *at* her house!
Looked at the fischertip link but my German isn’t up to translating most of it … is there a uk link anywhere?
Would love to hear more about the ballet lesson and the interesting conversations if you have time to write about them …

  2. its the same as magic maize just a tiny bit smaller.

  3. omg – that damn stuff. Never did come up with a use for the ton weight of it we bought. Ended up abandoning it at an unsuspecting HE camp.

  4. About the bossy thing- I don’t know how old Big is but Pip is just 7 and if I’m honest can be quite bossy. Titch is shaping up the same way, some times it gets too much and I have to step in but mostly I just take the attitude that I really don’t want to raise my daughters to be doormats and if I overshoot to a bit domineering….
