Pregnancy products: Bravado bras and Sea Bands for Nausea – review and giveaway.

Moments after the news of my pregnancy came out, or so it seemed, I was contacted by a couple of PRs offering related products for review and giveaway.

The first were the lovely ladies at BumpPR, offering a Bravado bra for review. Now, I’ve heard a lot about Bravado in the past, but never actually experienced one, being a mothercare bra wearer (well, when I wear a bra at all that is…). So this was an interesting offer, and one I was very pleased to accept. I went for the Body silk seamless nursing bra, in Teal Blue – a rather more daring choice of colour than my usual white, but at least it doesn’t risk going grey…

not a picture of me...

I was slightly intimidated by the bra when it arrived, as it’s of sturdier construction that I’m used to, but once I’d worn it I was well and truly won over. There’s no elastic bits to dig into you, no seams, it’s utterly adjustable, and easy to breastfeed in. (Yes, I know that this review is entitled pregnancy products, but I’m still breastfeeding Smallest as well. It happens 😉 ) It’s designed so that it will go on adjusting throughout pregnancy, and has removable foam pads, apparently to hide things like breast pads – personally I’ve never worried about that sort of thing, if ppl are staring that hard, they deserve all they get!

All in all, a product that I heartily endorse – I’m not sure how I’m ever going to go back to anything different.

sea band for nausea

The second pregnancy related product I was offered was Sea Bands for Nausea. These are accupressure bracelets that are supposed to cut down on nausea for whatever reason you are suffering. I have to say that I pretty much destruction tested them as I was suffering alarming levels of nausea throughout the day (I’d like to track down the idiot who called it morning sickness and give him a jolly good talking to. Honestly.) I did find that the nausea diminished when I was wearing the bands, but I also found the band on my right wrist quite uncomfortable, so had to balance how much I wore it. I chose to wear them when I was going out and about and I think that was a good compromise.

I’ve got two sets of adult sized bands and two sets of children sized bands to give away. Obviously one would hope the children aren’t suffering pregnancy related nausea, but they are also supposed to be effective against travel sickness and so on.

Entry by comment please, extra entry for sharing post (please leave another comment telling me where/ how!) UK only, and let me know whether you want adult or children bands 🙂 Entry closes 19th September at midnight, random draw to be done shortly afterwards and winners will be informed the following day. If I don’t hear from the winners within 5 days, I will redraw.

  3. well, I’m not likely to suffer from “morning” sickness (which used to hit me worst round midday and then again at bed time) but both Aprilia and I do suffer with car sickness so an adult pair for us to try out would be lovely (what with her already being adult sized and all that…)

I sometimes feel a bit sick with travelling and extra nerves from making sure everything is packed for the family so would love to try the adult bands, we are travelling end Oct so would be great!
