Piccadilly circus!

Been like that here this morning.

After staying up ludicrously late working last night (and *still* not getting project in hand finished, doh!) I had set the alarm knowing that Sarah was dropping Dino off for the day around 10. I also knew that the nursery nurse was coming, but somehow I’d got that in my head as being afternoon. Nope, 9.30. Which meant I came tumbling down the stairs, bleary and with any old item of clothing chucked on.

Small was quite happy to see her, but then of course Dino arrived as well, and he’s *far* more interesting. So Dino and Big played games with the nursery nurse, and Small tantrummed. Then the phone rang, with news of an interview for me next week. Very sensible process, they invite you in for a semi-technical chat, and if that goes well, you stay for the day and have a work trial. Best way of checking team fit and working approach that I can think of, even if not a particularly good thing to try to work childcare around.

Diary is really filling up now, with appts for Small, groups and activities for Big, weekends away, family wedding preparation (no, not us, you haven’t missed anything 😉 ) and meetings and interviews for Tim and me. Isn’t this supposed to be the holiday season? Quiet time? Yeah, right.

So now I’d better go excavate the kitchen – wouldn’t be at all surprised to get a referral to SS after this mornings fiasco where Small was still in pjs and night nappy, no washing up done since last night, and me still in bed when a visitor arrived. 🙁 And there’s the washing I forgot about last night, re rinsed this morning, the garden needs tidying up, and I said I’d make a couple more baskets for Stainsby. Hohum.

In other news, last night Big didn’t want her bedtime story, instead we read large parts of the Millenium book, a workbook on time that’s been kicking around for a year or three. Tim’s just scanned some of the activities for me so I’m going to do printouts of those so that we can play some games later and do some activities. We talked about timelines, and I want to put together a kind of timeline/folder/scrapbook thing so that we can build up a central resource for history *and* she can see something taking place from her work. Very much liked the Kings and Queens cards that Merry was using, might have to see if I can locate some of those.

Right, must go do housework before lunch, and prepare activity for after in hope of getting some work done in and amongst! They are occupying themselves on the puter just now, so all is relatively peaceful 🙂
