and it felt like a gathering of the blogring with a few extras thrown in 😉

As mentioned elsewhere, the party was for Alex and B, and in attendance there was us, Jan and co, and Sarah and her tribe as well as a couple of other home eddors and some non blogging, non home edding guests. It was a good mix, and a good party, despite the concerns of the two hosts. I spent a lot of time communing with R, Barbara’s youngest, who doesn’t seem to mind me at all. Was quite impressed that Small is not only not jealous when I cart a baby around, but actually comes and strokes the baby very gently. Odd, as he is less than gentle at other times. I noticed though that he is very careful with children smaller than him, completely ignores children around his size, and is only marginally more interested in children bigger. Basically he’s a very independent little soul.

Before we went, Big prepared birthday cards, and helped me wrap presents. She copies what she puts in the cards, but I’m very impressed with how neat her writing is getting considering that the occasional copying stint is the sum total of her practise. (Oh and the JP books, but we don’t do them all that often). I also like how her drawing is coming along – ppl have fingers and hair now 😉 Hm, just realised I don’t have a category for writing…that’s an oversight!

Anyway, today we’re out again, to a reunion of her old nursery friends. I’m not really looking foward to it, I’m going to very out of the loop with these ppl, who now all have children in school, and pretty much all work full time. Plus it’s being held at a Brewsters – yeuch. But Big and I have discussed it, boy have we discussed it, and she desperately wants to go, even though she is terrified that Brewster might be there. I think it’s almost guaranteed given that it’s half-term. What is the deal with the man dressed as bear anyway? Why is this supposed to be fun?

  1. Well, I’m impressed that you’re going (I, probably very selfishly, have been known to refuse transport if I don’t want to go to something!), and hope that if the big bear does turn up that it’s not too traumatic.

  2. That bloody bear. I once had to climb to the very top of the climbing frame 8 1/23 months pregnant to rescue Fran/Moo i really can’t remember which, from the stupid creature. NOW of course, he is highly popular, but back then.. oh no…..

  3. ‘…it will be a very long time before I set foot in a Brewers Fayre pub again..
10 days is not a very long time 😉

  4. Is there a difference between Brewsters and Brewers Fayre then?

  5. Oh, I know Chris, and believe me I didn’t want to 🙁 but we’ve had no contact from any of the nursery friends since they’ve all started school, so I didn’t feel that I had much choice.

  6. The ring ain’t working at the end, it goes into some perpetual loop….also you should change the name of Layla’s blog to it’s new name…orders over…

  7. Chris, I can’t find any problem – where are you having a problem? Change the name of the blog where? On the ring hub? I’ll check with Layla.

  8. O.k. maybe it is just me but clicking next on Kennedy’s fun house (26) takes me back to talkingaboutreallife (21) rather than dottyspots 29. Maybe if I click on refresh or summat, it is happening on three different machines mind. Yep re layla – it’s called Ghost of a Dog now and thought maybe she might like it to say that on ring hub.

  9. Yes please to changing it (but only because Chris says so) – I tried but I can’t remember either my login or password. How about changing Sarah’s too?
I get stuck in the loop too – although it is okay if you go backwards through the ring.

  10. It’s like the twilight zone down there …..

  11. Should be fixed now – mailed Leandra earlier.
