Party time

After yet another lazy morning in bed ;), I had to endure the standard getting ready for party agony while Big moaned about lack of clothing. She has a slight point in that we are a bit behind with the washing, but she did have three tops and two skirts to choose from, so I didn’t feel she was being particularly hard done by. Maybe it’s the choice that’s the problem – whatever it is, a whole half hour of moaning, wailing, crying, whimpering, stomping, and shouting ensued, which to be frank, was more than a little boring. At least when Small complains about clothing it’s slightly entertaining (I’d never known that tops could be too dinosaury or even too blue before )

Eventually though, we were ready and we popped off the path yet again, this time for M’s party. I *think* that it’s the first time we’ve been to one of hers – I think that our regular overnight stays have slightly changed the friendship relationships between the children, and M now enjoys playing with both of ours. Certainly Small is very fond of her – he made her a card, and for the first time ever, wrote his name in it. Should have scanned it for posterity I suppose 😉

The children seemed to have a great time, apparently Small doesn’t like being out in games, and I know he isn’t overly fond of the passing part of pass the parcel, but then I’m not sure that any 3 year old does. Right up to leaving they did reasonably well, then of course there was much wailing. Small was distracted by having to retrieve his pjs, left there drying earlier in the week, but Big just suffered 🙁

Lots of fireworks on the way home, and they’d party bags to look forward to as well, then off to bath and bed. I feel as tired as if I’d been up and at it all day, so I guess I’ll be off to bed soon too. Small has put in a request for finger puppets like the one’s he’s seen at Jan’s, so I’m about to try to whip up one of those first. Shouldn’t take too long 🙂

  1. Get J&J to scan the card! 🙂 Writing his own name – that’s a big milestone, well done Small 🙂

  2. I can see that some clothing might be too dinosaury! I like Small’s way of looking at things 🙂

  3. (((Jax))) Have just caught up on your blog.
None of mine seem to give a fig about clothing and I have always liked that..except for today when Willow went out in a old pair of pink flared trousers that Meadow used to wear. I know I shouldn’t be bothered;)

  4. Something like a wedding dress could easily be too dinosaury, and maybe a formal suit too. That’s all I could think of though 🙂
